I know the new flat screen TV's can also be used with a computer, but can they split the screen so you can watch tv and use your computer at the same time?

it will depend on the TV., if you can watch 2 ch. in the tv you can watch and use your computer at the same time
but try to buy a TV tuner card if your just using a monitor.,

There are some programs that allow you to do this. Flat screen TVs make lousy computer monitors as the number of lines for broadcast TV is 525. You are better off using a high definition computer monitor as a TV. I can go into a lot longer technical explanation, but I am tired and sure that some other nerd can explain it.

One TV monitor cannot be used simultaneously for two purposes. You can switch between TV and computer but not watch both together. Its not possible.

most of them got PIP (picture in picture) feature which will let you watch tv and work on your computer at the same time... ask if the Tv has got PIP and a connection for the computer and you''ll be fine

yes, that's what one of my friends have. Plus, according to my friend, you have to use DVI (digital) or else the picture will be blurry.
