We ALL, at some level, care. That is why advertisement has us all in it's back-pocket. We are all sold the idea that if we buy this in order to look like that, everyone will be impressed.
And in response to the last post, you are just like every other so-called goth. There are thousands of you, with red hair, piercings and tattoos, all in the name of individualism. You may as well just put on an Abercrombie and Fitch or Amercian Eagle shirt, because you are the equivalant. Sorry, but tis true.

Nope! I'll give you a good example of this: I love Express Men clothing. I think it's the best thing since sliced bread! But one outfit of mine has caused a lot of sentiments to pop up. I've been told I look like Britney Spears more than once in it. I was also compared to the likes of a "punk rock princess". The outfit is simply a pair of black boot-fit pants, a zip-up black sweater and a long-sleeved sky blue, fitted shirt underneath with a "tie up" kind of style in the front (The shirt has a draw string in the neck that goes down about two of inches and has an "x" pattern). I still wear it and I'll keep wearing it until the whole thing falls apart at the seams!

depends on how I feel at the moment. sometimes I do sometimes I don't. it also depends on the situation. I can't prove it, but I am kind of compulsive when I feel strongly about something and sometimes I just blurt stuff out that is true, but it may hurt someones feelings. that is the reason I care about what others think. I don't want to hurt their feelings most of the time. otherwise, the way I dress and act is my own business.

no I don't care what other people think. Yes I can prove it. I put bright red in my hair even though people stare and call me a freak. I got a huge tattoo on my arm even though people stare.got 6 piercings even though people stare. My kids wanted red in their hair too and I knew that people would talk but let them do it anyways.

Yes I do because I'm normal. I care enough not to say anything in front of someone that I know will piss them off and I always try to not say anything dumb. I hate it when I find out someone has been talking about me and saying that I'm annoying or stupid so I do a lot to make sure I don't give anyone a reason to say that.

no, but I probably can't prove it, so I guess the answer was pointless.
But then again that's not exactly a point that you can truly prove
