It is usually when they lack something. Usually people who are showing off, are doing it to get attention, because they don't know any other way to attract people's attention.

There are a number of reasons why some people show off. In fact, Everyone shows off at one time or another, So it depends on the person and whats going on at the time. Like If it`s a party, they might want to be the life of the party. Some are showy because they need attention, Some people like to take control of another person in the presence of others, because they need to feel superior, it`s all about being in control, taking authority over others. because of low self esteem, they need to prove to themselves and others that they are the best! top dog , the man or the woman, lead man, LOOK at ME aren`t I great ?

Everyone needs attention sometimes and that is why they do it my friend they think that they are impressing everyone when everyone really knows that they are just showing off, but they are too ignorant to realize it!!
