I had no luck using Windows media for the conversion. I bought Music Match Jukebox to save my music in. It works great, the same music sounds better through MMJukebox and it will let you convert files to MP3. There were a few that gave me a message that it couldn't convert WMA protected files to MP3 but I don't know why they were "protected". Ninety plus percent of the music I had in Windows Media transferred and I was able to burn them unto CD in MP3 format so you should be able to transfer them to any device as MP3.
There might be other systems that work equally as well. Shop around or watch the answers to see what pops up.

Good luck.

go to download.com and search for AV music morpher gold. It's really for mixing stuff but you can load WMA or wav and a few others, set the eq for the style you want and hit morpher. It works great and is easy. It's free unless you want the full edition but if just changing WMA to MP#'s than this is perfect.

Try to find an mp3 convertor or editor software program at your local computer store.... MicroCity, Frys, Best Buy, Circuit City or any place like that.
