I like this pick, and the Packers needed to upgrade at this position. I think his quickness and the way that he loves to fly around the field should be a real asset for the Packers defense. I think that the Packers can move Nick Barnett outside, possibly to the weak side and with Abdul Hodge, the Packers could have three of the best young linebackers in the league - that's speaking talent-wise, it's anyone's guess how they will gel as a unit and if they will have the right kind of chemistry to make an impact right away.

His presence will make an immediate impact on the Packer D. I think he could possibly be a candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year. His former teammate at Ohio State, Bobby Carpenter, who got drafted by the Cowboys, will also have a nice rookie season. Everyone forgets about him, but he's from the same mold as A.J. Hawk.

AJ Hawk will not only make a huge impact on the Packer's defense. I wouldn't be supprised if he won rookie of the year too.

Yeah...he's my co-pick for rookie of the year actually.
The Packers run defense needed him so badly...especially losing Na'il Diggs to my Panthers during Free Agency ;) A.J. Hawk should step up and be a leader...we saw Lofa Tatupu do it in Seattle, I expect it to happen there too...he's got major talent at LB. Him aided by Nick Barnett behind the line...run game against Green Bay was hindered.

Ohh yeah he's gonna be a big impact on the packz he's gonna cause some serious problems for any offense that they play against
causing alot of 4th downs turnovers....
so that means Brett Favre is gonna get his hands on the ball more ....Hopefully they
can get very far down the road with their
reinforcements and hopefully this time we wont
have all the injuries we did last year I also want Favre to break Marino's record for td's
Marino has 420 td's and Favre has 394
I know he can do it and the defense is gonna
be a big factor on that accomplishment...

He won't necessarily be elite, but he'll have an impact on their defense. Mainly because their defense sucked so bad and will continue to suck, just not quite as bad because AJ's there.

He might struggle a bit at first, but if he stays focused and works hard he could be the next Brian Urlacher... but not in his rookie year.
Or he could be all college-hype and turn out to be a pro-bust. Remember Brian Bosworth?

Maybe. But the Packers as a team need to play a LOT better or nobody will notice.
