My laptop had gone out with the so called blue screen of death having the KERNEL_SATCK_INPAGE_ERROR now I don't know how to fix it. I've decided to restart my windows from the time I bought it where I need to install all operating system softwares. Any tips on how to restart it and how can I save all the files in there too?

Read everything please before doing.

A lot of bench techs can withdraw data before you do any of this and it cost big bucks.

Make sure you remove all external hardware devices other than Keyboard Mouse and Monitor. Do all this before you go and do the following:

If you have a new PC, reference the manual on how to initiate the nondestructive re-install. Usually you turn the PC on and tap on F10 over and over until you enter recovery options. From there you can reinstall. Be careful here because not all manufactures give you the nondestructive. Some only give the destructive option.

Easy way to get out of this Jam is not to reinstall but go to the advanced options by turning on the PC and pushing F12 over and over until you see advanced options. Then select last known good configuration. If the PC boots up to windows then grand.

Another way is to do the nondestructive install by putting in any XP CD and when you get to the part when windows is detecting prior ver of Windows it will find it and ask you if you want to repair it. or install over it. So here you can make a decision to repair it. DO NOT use anybodies XP CD to do the full reinstall. Those disks can be found through the manufacturer and the cost to have them shipped is under 20 dollars in most cases. Once you do the repair you do have your data but you have to reinstall your programs all over again.

Good Luck!

I think your files can be saved to a disk and then put back in after you restore it. Go to all programs, control panel, performance and maintenance, system restore and it will take you back to when you first got the computer or as far back as you want to go. Hopefully you can get in there to do so. Good luck!!
