Listening to the local stations is killing me...

Hear the lottery numbers on the radio, realize they are MY numbers, go back home and go to bed!

Make a mix tape or CD (if you have either of those you can play in a car). If you don't have a tape or CD or Mp3 thing in your car, buy a tape player or CD player and hook up computer speakers to it. This will let you listen to whatever you want to rather than the local stations. If you've got a cell phone, get a headset for it (I reccomend this for safety/law) and call someone to talk to.
Bring a snack in the car with you for after work, too. Make it something yummy that you can eat safely while driving. That usually helps. Turning off the radio entirely and thinking through things on your mind can also be enjoyable... Or it's enjoyable if you're me, which would make you boring.
Those are all the ideas I have.

You know what I started doing....getting books on CD. I use to commute 4 hrs...2 in the morning and 2 at night. The local stations were killing me after awhile. I also got Learn to Speak Spanish and stuff like that. It really helps with bored during you commute

Well, on my way to work I usually listen to the local country station and it suits me just fine.
But, may I suggest a good CD, mixed or whatever?
Or maybe an ipod or mp3 player if you have one?

Sing some old songs outloud that I haven't sung for a long time. You know, the ones you only sing in the shower or when you've put away a 12pack....:)
