I've struggled with this a bit also and I think it comes down to frame of reference. Here's what I mean....
I agree with you that, when we look at the grand scheme of things, we do seem rather insignificant. But, is this the correct way to evaluate our lives? If we take things down a notch and look through a more localized lens it seems that we can be rather significant indeed.
Try to imagine your life as if you have already lived it. You might see the impact you have made in the lives of friends and family, your role as a leader in the community, contributions you have made in a particular career field, or just you living for yourself without the constraints of society. Allow yourself only that frame of reference and your accomplishments, be they personal, professional, or otherwise, seem rather important to the people you've encountered in life.
There may not be an overarching purpose to existence, but I don't think it needs one for us to lead meaningful lives. I hope you agree.

Well, it depends on your perspective. A genetic determinist would claim it is an evolutionary imperative.
Cultural anthropologist claim we create of own meaning, whether it is religious, ethical, or hedonistic. Maybe you need more fun meeting in your life, or work toward your passions and dreams. Then living gains meaning. Newly published surveys of global happiness show money can't buy you love, happiness, or meaning. It is sociality, connection, and a moral system that create the point of living. Durkheim's work on antimony in modern society speak to this loss of meaning.

Why don't you just enjoy life instead of questioning it? Stop and smell the roses.
Also, by working so hard, the human race may avoid extinction.

At this rate, we maybe be able to colonize a different solar system before the sun goes red-giant.
... but in the end, even that wouldn't REALLY matter.
All we are is dust in the wind!

I don't know how old you are, it is not for you to worry about at this time in your life. Because there is more to life then worrying about suicide. I've been in those type of thoughts most my life. so for now just love your family and thank God for each day you LIVE.

Playing the odds.
It's the hope that we won't be there on that day and that while we lived we received ever thing that life had to offer. And that we gave everything we had to offer to life.

The cockroaches may take over, but I personally hope cats do. They just enjoy their lives and hardly fuss.
