Is there any way i can connect to a distant computer( I mean a wireless network connection) and be able to transfer data from my system to theirs and vice-versa. Is Connecting to an unknown server also possible?

Rajesh, it depends on how distant they are. If the distance is reasonable then you could put a high-gain antenna on the wireless access point. That would increase the distance that you could communicate over. As for connecting to an "unknown" server, you either need to know the server IP address, or else it must be broadcasting its availability, such as by NetBEUI on a Microsoft network - although personally I find NetBEUI to be unreliable.

If your neighbor has wireless access you can get on if your computer can see the connection and the connection does not require a key(WEP).
Not without being on some sort of network. the network lets you share resources of sorts. Most servers require you to log in. If the both of you can get or have access to one then you can shre files.
