I think it is. Jaime Foxx and Collin Farrel are very good actors. The movie was great. The chances are pretty good.

Definitely won't be nominated for anything. I just saw it tonight, and it didn't have any of the drama or musicality of the series. Also, can someone please tell me where is the Miami in Miami Vice? The box office numbers do not support your theory that the movie is as popular as the tv show. $25.7 million is nothing, Pirates of the Carribbean pulled in $20.6 million in it THIRD week at the box office. Miami Vice isn't a bad movie, it just isn't anywhere near as good as the series. Something else I would like to know is how did they take two of the finest looking men in Hollywood and make them look so bad? Collin Farrell looked like he should be starring in a bad 70s porno flick with the hair and mustache. I did like the movie but it didn't inspire emotion like the original.

Not a hope in hell., Not that Oscar winning flicks are any good anyway. Saw it and it's as bad as Collateral and any other Micahel Mann movie. Story sucks. Colin Farrell has zero chemistry with anyne onscreen. Bor and ing....and, yes, I was a MIami Vice TV show fan.

Just because they are previous oscarry types doesn't mean that putting them together will merit an oscar. I mean look at that pirates of the caribbean 2... lots of famous actors, in a joke of a film that (although popular with thirteen year old girls) will not win anyone an oscar.

Are you kidding? A movie like that although entertaining would never be considered for nomination let alone winning best picture.

I think you answered your own question. That movie blows! It would only be Oscar material if the voters were damaged, or if it were they only nominee. I don't understand how you could even think that it would come close.

No way! It's an entertaining film, but Best Picture from the Academy...I think not.

Oh I doubt it!
Remakes of TV shows are rarely, if ever oscar material!

Best Picture at the Oscars?
You've got to be joking.
I'm surprised it didn't go straight to video.
