Why do liberals ignore the bad morals of the Kennedy family?

Ted Kennedy drowned a girl and left her to die. He cheated his way through Harvard - GOT CAUGHT AND WAS SUSPENDED!!

3 of the Kennedy's cheated on their wives and had sex with Marylin Monroe.

JFK's Bay of Pigs incident made Castro turn to the Russians for support - and we have been politically fighting with him ever since.

How could you support this rich, stuck-up family?

I know, I know, their are bad morals in each family. Somebody said JFK and his brother died as martyrs. Really? That's not how I view them. Name one, ONE, good thing JFK did?

And the person who said all politics is immoral - you are right. And it is very frustrating. I also think it is all about the money. But any other person that killed a girl would have been locked away for life, charged with a felony. Instead, old Ted runs for President and gets ELECTED!

soxrcat, you are a moron. Ted Kennedy went to brown after getting suspended from Harvard. Castro was a Marxist. We pumped him money until he set taxes on foreign trade. This sent the big American farm companies that had land in Cuba crazy. They convinced the government to overthrow Castro, so brilliance over here JFK invades Cuba with thousands of Cubans, and fails. Miserably. Since America betrayed him, he turned to Russia for helped. They siezed the oppurtunity to have a satellite nation so close to the United States. Castro has never had good relation with the United States since, and for good reason. We betrayed him.

The liberal media sure has done a good job of brainwashing some of you guys.

I am afraid you are admixing personal morals with party morals. Politics is and should be by and large amoral. So long as the personal morals or immorality rather does not in any way interfere with the party politics or government administration there is no need to be overtly worried abougt it. It is not as it were that members of party look up the their leaders as guiding lights for their personal lives. There is no evidence to suggest that Kennedy brothers loose character in any way interfered with their conducting of party work or the administration.

As regards the Bay of Pigs incident or for that matter President Carter's totally felt blitz krieg on Iran which failed miserably these are political maneavures. The Bay of Pigs was an attempt to preempt the Russian interference in American politics.. It is not true to say that this incident threw Cuba into the arms of Soviet Russia. Politically it was already more close to Russia and Bay of Pigs or not it would one day would have walked into the Russin parlour.Kennedy also displayed examaplry character when he order movement of the navy to block the imminent Russain move to arm Cuba with atomic weapons. So the high esteem in which Kennedy family is held has nothing to do with their family wealthy. They were good politicians and guided the country in times of crisis.In fact, if some theories are to be believed John F.Kennedy was liquidated because some steps he intended to take would have marred the interests of some vested interests.The actual shooter and then his shooter in turn were just agents of these interests. Personally perhaps these interests were devout Christians attending the Church regularly but they did a disservice to America and to the world at large. Had Kenney contionued a few years more he could have given a new turn to the American and to the world politics.

I love all the answers that say yeah those things they did were bad but, or well look at Bush...

They did some terrible things! End of discussion! There's no comparison and you can not excuse the behaviour.

Now on the other hand grouping all liberals to the Kennedy's is something I would have done.

The same reason the neocons ignore the Bush family problems (W's past cocaine and pot, W's drinking again, W's AWOL, . W's lying about getting us into war, W's ather's mistress, W's grandfather's Nazi business partners, etc etc) and all the neocons who have been sent to jail because of fraud...because it is not desireable to dwell on the sins of the side you support. In fact, real loyal noecon republicans will just explain away all of those supposed facts, just as all of the JFK mistress/marilyn Monroe stuff/mob ties/etc are in fact rumors. That is what the democrats would say. liberal is not a swear word any more than neocon is. In fact, Rove orchestrated the condemning of and use of the word liberal to mean "antiAmerican white flag raiser cut and runner unpatriotic pot smoking aborting flag burning low life scum." You have to hand it to the guy, he sold it and you and others who believe as you do bought it from the republican media/FOX News/Rush etc. But hey this is YOUR time just as other times weren't. the right iwas owed this I suppose...but just remember what goes around comes around and that means 2006 and 2008 (assuming the election is stolen for a thrid time by the republicans, and God bless them if they can do it again) will belong to the other radical group, the left wing democrats. I just wish the left and the right would both quit pretending that they care about America first, because they don't. PS: Bay of Pigs was Ike's deal that JFK inherited and didn't like, but he gave the green light...see? what a double standard! You neocons blame JFK for the Bay of Pigs, but blame Clinton for 9/11, even though it was in W's watch, HEY, probably on his desk, oh yeah that's right, Condi DID lie about it...before Congress, what a shame...and a sham!

JFK and Robert were alot better than Ted. Ted is just a nutcase nothing more. JFK was a real
deal war hero and meant the best for the US even tho he did get into the bay of pigs fiasco and Vietnam. Robert was fighting organized crime better than anyone had in years. And they were not killed by republicans does Sir Han

Its simple, liberals have no morals. Its easy for them to overlook the Kennedy clan when they are morally void and decrepit. We can look at how important morals are to liberals by checking out their agenda.
1.) Lets murder babies as a method of birth control.
2.) Lets expand social programs like welfare.
3.) Lets weaken our military! That's a liberal thought
4.) Lets raise taxes, we need to pay for those that are too lazy to work......
5.) Lets remove God from every aspect of life.
6.) Lets allow gays to wed like normal couples have for 3000 yrs.
7.) Lets allow people to burn our flag as an expression.....
8.) Lets not take a bath in a month and blame it on Bush.
9.) Lets get our knowledge of the world from the Hollywood elite
10.) Lets just forfeit our American values for a world order, let the United Nations dictate our foreign policy.

Because despute their personal shortcomings, they actually protect the american people through their politics. Besides they are not all bad, there is one Kennedy I can't remember his name that is doing a lot for the enviornment.

On the other side of the coin, look at the Bush family, they are no better. I don't mean just GW and Jeb, i'm talking about their grandad Prescott and their dad George H.

Get your facts straight - Edward Kennedy went to Brown.
The apostrophe goes after the s when the word is plural (so it is Kennedys')
Castro went to Stalin because he was a communist and the Soviet Union were communists as well. The Russians had nothing to do with it.

Well I don't support what they did, but they are Human and made some HUGE mistakes and all we can do now is just forgive them. There are some people out here doing worse than what the Kennedy's did, I know that doesn't have anything to do with the question but what they did was in the past and all we can do is remember him as our president!

Just because someone is liberal does not mean they like they Kennedy family, and also all those things you pointed out about the Kennedy family happened about 40 years ago.

Secondly there are plenty of shady characters in both major political parties.
