If the police were not involved, you will not have a criminal file. You will only have one of these if you are convicted of theft. However, your actions have ensured that your previous employer will be unable to offer a recommendation for you - and frankly, you have to understand their position on this. You still have some options - use your older references (you must have had some letters of recommendation to get the job you just lost?) and think of a way of explaining how you have used the time since those recommendations were written. Alternatively, become a volunteer somewhere to gain a new reference. I would NOT suggest using any sort of reference from the employer you stole from if you are truly seeking a fresh start - they will be morally bound to explain that you were dismissed. Everyone makes mistakes, but try not to put yourself in this position again - you baby will be the one who suffers most if you end up in jail.

If you still have a good resume without that company, leave it off your resume.
If you have to have the company on your resume to show you have experience, go ahead, but find others who can provide references if necessary.
Nine times out of ten, companies don't check with previous employers before they hire you, especially if it's for a lower level position, so you'll lose nothing by taking a chance and sending your applications out.
If you were never required to talk to the police, you probably don't have to worry about a criminal record.
. If your child is in need of medical care or food in the future and you can't afford it, seek help from a government agency, church, or charity.
You made a mistake, but you seem to have learned your lesson, so just move on and try to make amends. You deserve a second chance.

Most likely if your new job calls for a reference the HR department will tell them the reasons why and if they would rehire you. As for a criminal record, unless they file charges and the police and courts were invovled you should be OK. Just because you are desperate does not make it right and just because you confessed. You best move would have been to go them up front and explain your situation in full before you started stealing. So to be so blunt but theft and lying or the two things that really make me mad.

You must be so worried now.As I said in my answer to your question before, Everybody make mistake.But the most important is, DO YOU LEARN FROM IT?
If you try to find another job they might called the HR from your previous job but its confidential to tell why you get fired.
I think you will not have criminal file unless they arrest you and bring the problems to court.
But what is sure is that. your name maybe on the company file and you will not able to work in the same company anymore.
Never give up to find another job.And fix what you break.Remember, every body made mistakes.

Under the law, HR cannot say why you were fired unless you had done drugs, alocholic problems, or stolen things.
Basically you will most likely to find a job in landscaping or construction for the next couple of years. This way, in the future, you will obtain a normal job.
Your main goal is to focus on not ever filing bankruptcy, because that will ruin your career opportunities for the next decade.

Don't use them as a reference and hope for the best. Most retail stores are desperate for help so you should be able to get another job. You might also try being a waitress. Your story is a good example of how doing something wrong will backfire on you.

if it is not in any criminal record, then the new company should not find out. It is illegal for your old company to tell your new company what you did. The only questions that your old comapny can answer is to verify employment and if they would rehire you. Other than that, they cannot answer any other detail questions...otherwise you can sue them. If your old company reported you to the police, but did not press charges it will show up in your background check. So a safe way to find out is to do a background check on yourself to see what is on there.

I don't think that they can disclose what you did at your former company to the one you are applying to because of confidentiality. Unless you were convicted (which requires court involvement). I think you should try to work in whatever you're comfortable with, and if they ask any questions tell them the allegations were completely unsubstantiated. But always be honest! However, it's been my experience that most companies don't even check people's references. I think you should just give it a try, and remember that you were not convicted of any crime.

Since you already have a child, would you be able to babysit in your home for two or three other children? That way you could make money and raise your child - which would save you $ for a daycare, and pay your bills. Who knows, you may be able to start your own day care center because of what you originally did to be able to take your child to the hospital. Good luck.

Where you approach for a job, you yourself tell what happened and ask for a job. It is better that way, rather the employer comes to know about it from somebody else. Make a new beginning to be good for the employer.
