Gothic guy+make up= Me totally turned on...
Hmm....I can't think of any websites for you, or books, but I think(and hope) I can help you out myself... It would be a cool idea if you used eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. I suggest Avon because it is cheap and works really well. Choose a color...for example, Black, and find shades close to it...If you were to get black eyeshadow, buy a dark gray to go along with it. Do the same for all the eye shadow colors that you choose to buy. That way, it will be alot easier to do the smokey eye look I will tell you about later. If you want to buy plain black(better for the gothic style) eyeliner that is fine, but it is more fun experimenting with different colors of eyeliner for different make up styles. Red and Gray/Silver Eyeliner are bold, but if done right can make a cool statement!!! Also try different color mascaras for an even bolder look!

'Smokey' Eye: Modified Version
Start by applying liner where the lashes met the eyelids on the bottom...try not to smudge or blend it to a large degree or it will look odd... Do the same on the top lid, not forgetting the corners. Brush on the lighter of the two shades(or three) covering the whole of your upper lid (some people apply a bit on their lower lid, as well). Now comes the more difficult part. Where your eyelids crease on the top of your eye(under the brow, but above the lashes.), apply the darkest shade in a curved line following the crease, not making it too thick as to were it is too bold. Using a clean brush, blend the lightest and the darkest color together slightly. You could be finished now, but to add more of the 'smokey' look, you could place a shade(lighter than the darkest shade, but darker than the lightest) in either corner of the eyelid, blending all the colors a bit. You could also apply a light shade of the color in that remaining space between your lid and eye brow. Blend a bit. Apply mascara, (if desired).

The Cat Eye look could also be interesting. But make sure it looks right!!!

Cat Eye: Modified Version(no eyeshadow version)
Apply liner like you normally would, but make the line on upper lid slightly thicker than normal, so it looks like = rather than -,,,,,Place eyeliner pencil (or wand) in the outer corner of your eye and following the natural curve of your facial structure draw a quick line...not to long or dark, or it will look wrong. use your finger and smudge the make until it looks like it comes into a point a the end, making the line resemble the shape of an eyelash. Apply many coats of mascara, if desired.

If you want other, more 'gothic' make up ideas, I suggest that you look at pictures of the guitar players in the band Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) on Google or the band's site for some cool ideas, because they have many cool looks. If you need more make up tips, I suggest you look up something along the lines of "gothic make up tips" or "gothic make up styles" on a search engine. It should take you to at least one good site.

I also suggest using concealer if you have breakouts, or wearing a pale colored cover up for that 'no sun' look. Mineral sheers( Neutrogena just came out with a very good product) is good on top of cover up, concealer, or nothing at all. It makes your face color blend together a bit more and helps just a bit to hid small imperfections in your skin if you happen to have any. If you wear the 'gothic white' colored make up, don't forget your ears and both sides of your neck, or it might look sloppy.

Wow, I wrote alot. I hope this helps. You can always ask for more advice, if needed. You could always ask a member of the gay or bi-sexual community near you for tips...

Thats a good question.
I would say check out woman's makeup sites on how to apply eyeliner properly. ( for tips)
I'd say get yourself a bottle of liquid eyeliner and start practicing. You will need it. Try getting one with a spinge tip applicator, as it may be easier if you have a shaky hand, but it wont give you a defined line as a thin brush.

I found you a website, I dont know if its any good.

YAY! A Gothic guy! Hi! How are you? Can I hug you? *hugs* ........sorry, please forgive my excitement. I don't often meet other goths.

Hope these help:

In my opinion, its good to have simple makeup. Some nice thick black eyeliner is enough..... and maybe a small amount of light face powder.

May the eternal darkness of the abyss enrapture and enshroud you in its infernal sickly sweet embrace............ oh and, *hugs*

all you need are some good close up photos of the look you like, and time. when you're working with eyeliner, go EASY and blend before adding more!! you will end up doing a few 'coats' but you're better off doing more and getting the look you want that going all out and having to wash it all off to start over. one trick is to apply eyeliner (loreal has a good soft pencil) and rub your eyes like you have allergies. this is a small motion, not too much side to side. gently press the lashes down onto the lower lid so the eyes tear up a little. this will give that heroin chic look.

HOO-RAH! Goth dude... awesome! uhhhmmm... for me, i don't like the goths that go over-board with they're makeup... it's like they're trying to prove something, which just makes them like the rest of society, and i'm sure you don't want that. If you want to be attractive and stuff, have a little stubble, scruffy hair, and eyeliner would be great. But if you're going for the whole Cradle of Filth thing, I think some of the other people already posted that.
good luck... don't go crazy with the bondage pants either, man.
peace

use black eye shadow to do the sweeping shadow eyes. and get Cake eyeliner and use the special brush to paint it on both the top and bottom lashes and connect it where your eyes meet. and paint it out a littl emore line in the corners of your eyes. dont use any blush only maybe some bronzer. good luck
