At least at the moment! Why can't other countries just accept that? They shall focus more on catching up and not always complain how the US is arogant, greedy etc. Americans work hard for what they have and if other nations can't catch up, well, that is their problem!

'Theonlygame', i don't think you got my point here. It wasn't really that I'm being arogant, it was more about the fact that other nations need to focus on their issues more! And accept facts!

hmm.. how about because the US are arrogant and greedy and EXPLOIT others to make money. There are so many problems in the US and I dont know what ranking thing you run on but the US isnt the best place to live on nor "#1 in the world." You guys just seem to have the most money and strongest military. And other nations can't catch up because of the US's aggressive foreign policy. Now isn't Canada and the US supposed to be friends? Well what about the 32% tariff that was imposed on Canada's softwood lumber. NAFTA my as*s. As China begins to rise and other nations begin to turn on the US, the US will keep denying the truth and wont admit to it. If the US actually allowed free trade, stopped attacking other countries, and allowed an equal opportunity to developing countries then other nations would be able to catch up and surpass the US. but the US doesnt want that because they want to be the "leader" The United States? Trust me they arnt even close to being number 1. The US are just right winged, close-minded people

I cannot agree more.

USA is #1 for the following:

1. Invaded the most number of countries in the last 10 years, 20 or should I say 50 years?

2. Exercised the most no. of Veto power in UN Security Council to block certain actions. Followed by Russia.

3. Emitting the most Carbon Dioxide (CO2) as a country. Refusing to abide by the Kyoto Agreement.

4. Has the most nuclear powered submarines all over the world which are capable of launching nuclear war head missiles. And USA wants UN to sanction Iran and North Korea.

North Korea wants to test fire their missile and USA is giving so much trouble. And you say US is not arrogant and others are not trying to catch up? It's because USA is doing all means to stop others from catching up.

I like half of the American. I don't like the hawkish camp and the current govt.

As long as we keep believing that, we will keep slipping farther and farther down the slippery slope of mediocrity. You are aware of what happened to Rome, aren't you?

Anyway, it is hard to rank countries in that way. And there are a lot of countries around the world that afford their citizens equal freedoms with very similar cultures, but don't include all the crime and other BS that exists in the US.

Look at Canada and Australia for example.
