these numbers never coincide because they are meant never to coincide!! actually the players themselves dont pick the numbers on thier shirts in the test matches....because it refers to the sequence of players for that particular couintry...for instanc...if mohaamad asif is the last capped pakstani player...his number would be 190...and hafeez kardar being the 1st pakistani cricketer would get 1 on his shirt.....while in the ODIs....players mostly choose the numbers of thier own choic..but these numbers can coinicde with the numbers on the playrs of the opponent team..both in tests and ODIs

In test cricket the player doesn't get to choose their number. It depends how many other people played before the player. In Australia Adam Gilcrist number is 1XX meaning theres he's the 1XX player to play for Australia.

In limited overs cricket the players in a team come together and put down what number they would like. In 20-20 cricket it is more for fun so at their back of their it will have their nickname for example Michael Clarke's nickname is PUP.

There is no certain criteria followed for that, rather its there own decision, mostly cricketers put there lucky number there like "99" for Sachin, "8" for Inzamam, "14" for Ponting, "14" for Shoaib thats how it goes.
