Is there any way to "stretch" shoes out? More specifically tennis shoes?

A friend of mine once told me that using crumpled up newspaper and alcohol helped to stretch shoes out- anyone ever heard of this?

no i haven't heard of that but try losesesing the laces

When i want to stretch out my shoes i stuff them with sox.
Just role a couple up in a ball and stuff them were you want .
It works for me

A shoe repair place can stretch them for you. Ask the shoe store where you bought them, Nordstrom does it for free on their shoes.
