I have answered a question similar to this once before and I am glad it is a breath of fresh air. I worked at a nuke plant, as you call it, in Texas and I spell much better than I type and sometimes I would rather abbreviate, etc. or not make corrections. There are plenty of people on here who do not have a good grasp on the English language. I have learned a lot from this site and am offended that you would call people illiterate for incorrect spelling, etc. when you do not know circumstances and if you are here to make fun of people, I would suggest you go to another site or forum.

You are level 3...which means you must be on this site much of the time. AND you are an electrical engineer? How do we know that for sure....why should we believe you. AND if you really are an engineer, are you watching the nuke plant, or are you on this forum most of the time? Who's watching the nuke plant while you are taking in a breath of fresh air?
GET TO WORK!

Hey, pahump1, it should be "an" electrical engineer, not "a" electrical engineer. Always use "an" instead of "a" before a vowel sound. Since you were discussing illiteracy, I felt I should point that out.

"A magnet for illiteracy"?
"Nonsense"?
How offensive! FYI, there are actually some intelligent people on this site. Your statements are absurd generalizations!
Cheers!

illiterate and incorrect spelling doesn't count or important here in yahoo answers. What is important is you have a space in this world where you can share your thoughts and feelings. Helping them with their problems whether it is just a simple one or too complicated is a great feeling . Enjoy and relax.

Keep in mind that most of the people on here are either bored teenagers or unemployed morons.
The teenagers write using the same shorthand crap the do text messaging with. The unemployed, well, stupid is as stupid does.

I find it entertaining and amusing. Sometimes enlightening. Sometimes sad. Some of the errors make me wince though. I'll keep coming back for more.

The level of literacy of these kids is heart-breaking. Would you hire these knuckle-heads? How do they fill out a job application?
