I got to wake up -- so I'm not dead yet. ;) At least my name wasn't in the obituaries! LOL
I woke up beside my husband who is my soulmate, the love of my life and the best thing in my life.
I woke up with a cat snuggled in the crook of my arm, very warm and sweet -- and quiet. She's a Siamese but she knew that I was sleeping. ;)
I got to go to a job I love and am good at. I am a teacher, and I get to help kids learn and grow intellectually and emotionally and spiritually. I teach 8th grade which is a pivotal time in their lives. I'm there to help make it easier and more enjoyable.
I woke up with a working body that isn't perfect by far, but gets me where I want to go.
I woke up in a lovely townhouse in Los Angeles, which my husband and I own, and which has enough room for our 37 bookshelves (we're both academics), and enough room for us and our two cats.
I woke up as an American citizen who can vote and participate in democracy -- or democrazy, as it is right now! LOL
