I hear ya! :( I've been troubled by dark circles under my eyes since my early 20s. Or maybe earlier, but I don't seem to recall having them when I was in high school. I've asked my dermatologist about every new product that comes out that supposedly lightens and/or lessens the circles (creams and gels with special ingredient formulas, etc.). He told me that 99% of them, no matter how good they sound, will NOT work. They're a lot of tempting-sounding hype, but they don't deliver results. :(

About the only way you CAN get rid of the circles, is to have cosmetic surgery performed. And that, as we all know, is expensive and risky, because if it "goes wrong", your eyes might look worse than before! I don't even know how they do it -- it's not as simple or safe as some facial procedures.

So basically, we're screwed! What I do is gently apply liquid-based make-up (concealer or foundation) under my eyes and then, when it dries, apply loose facial powder (not pressed powder) over my eye circles and the rest of my face. Supposedly anything with a yellowish color will counteract the blue-ish tone of our eye circles, and make them less noticeable.

Another thing to take into account is allergies and sleep. Despite the fact that I always have SOME type of circle under my eyes, if I don't get enough sleep, the circles are WORSE. So try to get a good night's sleep, at least. :) Also, if I am having an allergy flare-up, my circles seem to get darker too, so it's worthwhile to keep your allergies under control, if you suffer from them. (Mine are not very bad, only a short period of time each spring)

I have a problem with circles under my eyes as well. Its because I have insomnia, though. I don't know about getting rid of them, but there’s many make-up tricks you could use! Many of them depend on your eye color, and just what goes with you, so I suggest you play around with some make-up to find what you like. One trick I use is putting a lighter color in the crease where my eyes meet my nose. It makes your eyes look brighter, pulling attention away from the circles. Others can do the same, such as eye liner, eye shadows, and even lip stick/gloss works sometimes! So really go for the distraction method, by pulling attention away from the circles and on to other features you want noticed. Be careful, though! Some make-up does the opposite of what you want, making the circles look worse! So again, play with it at home first, and don’t get discouraged! I hope it all works out for you!

ok first off i would seriously ask you not to use a bleaching product close to your eyes!!!!! also using a lighter foundation under your eyes and covering it with your natural color will only make it look worse and either cake or run in any heat... it could also seriously irritate your eyes!!! the yellow cover up cream would be a great idea if all you want is to hide the problem... since i've worn glasses since elementary school they've only gotten worse over the years but i've found that hemorrhoid cream works well in reducing puffiness, sagging, and dark circles.... it also works as a good concealer when rubbed in well... other than that, try to avoid a lot of sun, it'll only make the circles darker so always wear sunscreen... CANCER IS NOT FUN!!!

They sell tubes of lighter makeup that you can put on those dark areas underneath your regular make up. It helps a little. But really, without looking like a make-up model, there is really very little you can do, except ignore it.

When you're a teenager, you sometimes just spend too much time criticizing the way you look, and looking in the mirror.

Realize that most people are NOT looking that closely. Most people don't even see that. And if they do, the ones who are your real friends probably think of that as a part of your looks, and you wouldn't be as attractive without that.

SMILE !!!! That's the best way to hide those circles. REALLY!

Hi, I had the same problem...born with them. For the last 3 months I have been using a corrective eye cream from Arbonne and my dark circles are gone! I use to look tired all the time, but not anymore; even when I really am tired I don't look it. It is from a company called Arbonne and you can check it out at www.wonderful.myarbonne.com in their online catalog. It is part of the NutminC RE9. The only thing is they only ship to the US and Canada. Good luck to you.

the circles could just be from thin skin under the eyes. If you stay well hydrated, that'll plump up the skin a little, maybe lessen the appearance. I have them too, and I used a product from Benefit cosmetics called Lemon-Aid, its a yellow concealer that completely hides the circles without lookin too make-uppy.

Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
