You can help her by supplying her with some erotic novels from the Author Kit Gerrard - be warned, they are explicit adult content!
However, it will give her the general idea of the type of erotica that is out there and if Gerrad is the vein that she wishes to write in then the first thing to do is to read, read and read some more to understand what her audience will expect.
There is a lot softer erotica out there than the type I have suggested, however you didn't specify the X rating.
