Seeking advise on things to see and do. The ship stops at these three ports; Puerto Vallarta, mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. I don't want to go to the bars, also don't like wandering around among gift shops. What would you recommend I do for about 8 hours while ashore? I will be going in may 07 ,and I am the outdoor type ,married, male. Any non foolish advise would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you about Mazatlan. Estrella del Mar has a beautiful golf course, last 4 holes play alongside the ocean. You can hike to the lighthouse, El Faro, 2nd tallest in the world next to Gibraltar in Spain. El Centro is the historical district, lots of great architecture, museums, restaurants, artist shops, and the cathedral is breathtaking. You can take tours to Stone Island or Bird Island, lots of water sports, horseback riding and good open air restaurants on the beach. If you are a surfer, the best breaks are Playa Bruja, Valentinos, or Playa Olas Atlas. You can walk the Malecon (10 mile seawall) It links 7 beaches, has wonderful views of Mazatlan, goes past the cliff divers, and there are vendors and restaurants along the way. Hope this helps, have a great trip!

The ship will have tours and other things you can sign up for to do while in port. We took a cruise to Cozumel and while there they had a Jeep Tour of the local jungle and several other tours you can take, along with a tour of the city itself. Check with the cruise line and see what they have to offer.
