I agree with most answers up there. I think winning and losing is probably not the best way to describe the current situation. In the end, human nature will never win, both sides are ugly, stained with the blood of the innocents. Even if one side claim victory, do they really think that they have won? But what did they lose beside the fact that human lives were lost? They will also lose respect and trust from other countries, their economy will suffer regardless. Men are greedy, and sadly, we never learn.

With the violence , death and destruction, there a tremendous loss on both sides.

With regards to the destruction and civilian deaths (ethnic cleansing would better describe what is happening), then Lebanon's loss is much (800 deaths, thousands wounded about 500,000 - 750,000 civilians displaced from their homes), much greater and Israel is winning.

Militarily, Lebanon (Hezbollah) is winning since Hezbollah has done more damage to Israel in that line.

The question is where is it going to lead us to>>> World War III? No one is a winner in a war, we can see that in Afghanistan and Iraq, there are so many suffering.
Billions of $ are spent on killing and destroying the lives of those innocent civillian survivors which then dont fear their lives and go for the suicide bombing.
I am sorry but we arent any better then the stone age man, the civilization hasnt taught us anything.

Nobody ever wins. That part of the world has been at war for over 3000 years, when will they get tired? I hope we ALL can live to see peace, at least for the children put in the middle of the insanity.

Israel is up by a touchdown...seriously, Israel has taken on a half dozen arab countries at a time and won, so rooting out some terrorists should not really put them in deep straits. They have a very strong military, and military service is manditory for everyone over there, so they are ready as well as tough.

I think that at the moment it would be Israel. But I would hardly call it "winning". Both countries are falling apart as the war continues to progress.

Neither side.

And we should not be naive enough to view it as a simple win/loose situation.
