Does licking lollipops (suger water + flavor) help you get better from a cold of flu?

Are they BAD for you while sick?

or is the fact that you're having a lollipop have a sort of placebo effect making you feel better just because its a lollipop.

bacteria loves sugar. sugar also lowers the immune response. though having emotional comfort while you are sick is an important element in recovery too, so who's to say really which is more beneficial. if you want to go sans sugar, maybe try something else to suck on.

hi there i read your question and to answer you ,having lollipops while your sick is a very poor idea, the reason being is that you got the cold or flu through a virus so your immune system is trying very hard to recover so your immunity will be quite low, so taking sugar in lollipop form or other forms only lowers your immunity so taking longer to recover, so you need to strengthen your immunity to get stronger , so cut out all sugar foods while your sick , just take the immune building natural products like vitamin c ,chelated zinc, garlic, Pure 100% honey{ Manuka honey +20 or +30 is best} hot lemon drinks, and maybe use vapo rub with vaporiser all of this will help your recover in quicker time, and will build your immune system much stronger so you wont get sick very often, in fact very little if you take it all on a regular basis, i hope all this helps and i hope you recover very quickly, take good care
