Most of us were shy buying sani products, it's normal.
You get over it with age and repetition. Expect it to make you blush for a few more years and enjoy your naivety while it lasts.
Soon you'll be asking them to do a price check on your tampons because you're sure the shelf listed them lower.

I think we’re all a little embarrassed at first. But as others have said it’s just natural and part of life. If you see a guy buying mouth wash do you think “Oooh, that guy has bad breath”? Or when people buy deodorant, no one thinks “that person stinks”. We don’t even think about these things because we all have bodies. Bodies stink and need cleaning and if you’re a woman you menstruate and need femine hygeine prouducts too. Other women know it’s totally natural. And if you are worried about the guys, I’ve had many a boyfriend (and now my husband) who don’t mind picking me up something. You’d think it would be even more embarrassing for a guy to buy that kind of thing, but one of my boyfriends told me he’s proud to take a box of pads/tampons up to the counter… he even displays them proudly… he says it sends a silent message to the other guys around… “look, I’ve got a girlfriend. Do you have a girlfriend? Yeah, I have a girlfriend. I’m a big man with a girlfriend”. Cave man thinking I know, but if he can do it proudly then so can you.
I was at the store today picking up some products for myself and there was a young girl there dithering back and forth. She finally asked me what brand is the best. She said it was her first time, and that in fact she hadn’t even had her first period yet, but that her doctor told her she would probably start before school this year. I was so proud of her for being able to ask a stranger on advise. …There’s no real point of this story, just that if brave little girl can do it, I’m sure you can too. I have faith in you that you will soon be proud of the miracle your body has allowed you (baby making) and be able to hold your head high knowing that you too are a part of we who are women. BTW there are more women then men in the world.
And next time you feel nervous about buying sanitary products (which is an aspect of a natural and good thing), just picture the guy at the pharmacy buying a bottle of foot-fungus cream and nose-hair trimmers while picking up a prescription for genital herpes... Now THAT guy really has a reason to be embarrassed.

It's a part of life and you're not the only one who buys these feminine products. I usually pay for them at a check stand with a female cashier and if I get a male I think he's more embarrassed than me.

It's really not a big deal. Everyone buys that stuff. The store will put it in a bag for you. You can also take along a large purse or other bag in case the store bag is somewhat see-through.

Just face your fear I'd say...Usually people don't judge or look at women buying their tampons or pads. And probably don't think twice about it. Once you buy them I think you won't get as nervous and scared...
Hope that helped :P

im a LOT like you. if you feel weird about it and someone looks at you, make it funny. picture yourself in whoever sees you and it doesn't seem that embarassing. feel comfortable.
BUT. .
if you dont like that idea cover it up in a basket. to avoid ANY people...
use self check-out (no hot cashiers)
