He has a problem and I hope that he gets the help that he needs. However the topic of anti semetic undertones came out when he filmed the movie "The Passion of the Christ." I am just as forgiving as the next person but as a Jew and considering what is going on in the Middle East today drunk or not drunk, he must have been had those thoughts in his subconcous mind and surfaced when he was drunk.

I don't think any less of Mel. I wish people would leave him alone. Mel has always had a good image, and just because he made a bad decision, doesn't change the kind of person he is. He's human, and we all make mistakes! Never ever, judge another person....you don't know what life lessons they are here to learn.
He's rectifying his mistake.

I have always known and suspected him of being the vicious anti-semetic that he is. Don't give him any more money by going to his movies. He hates Jews. There's nothing good about him that could bring me to like him. He hates Jews. That discounts any good inside the man.
Who a man curses in his weakest state is who he really hates and blames.
Down with Mel.

Relapsing is a terrible experience, for the person relapsing and their family. But, to have it happen and be splashed on world wide media has got to be horrific for all involved.
As a recovering alcoholic I know that things said while in the madness of a drunk are not truly representative of who we are.
A lot of rage and anger spews out when really, our anger is fear, fear of how out of control we are. Lashing out at anyone, anything........is unfortunately part of the problem.
I wish him the very best and I wish him and his family some peace during this time of hopeful healing.

I think people should remember he's human! Humans make mistakes... there's an old saying , it goes something like this... "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"!!! Sure he's a public figure, but they can still make mistakes, I think everybody should cut him some slack!!

Is he the first person to say something stupid while being drunk? Drunk people say stupid crap all the time. Holding it against hem is simply lame. It should be the same for Gibson.
This is why I can't STAND papparazzi
