First of all, its important to know that your clothes don't define who you are inside. They are just an expression of that. If you are going to be miserable because you wont like the job then don't take it. If its solely on the fact that you cant dress the way you would normally dress consider this.... If you like the work does it matter how you have to dress on the job. You can still dress and look how you want during your personal time.
It all depends on how much you will like the actual work.

If you are a parent then there should be no hesitation to do what you have to and need to to support your child and yourself. If it is just you then you have more space and time to work with. If it is in your chosen field and it is the next step up toward your goal, then yes. You can keep your indiviualism for the weekends if being so different is that important to you. Rebellion will eventually not be what you see it as now.

No because I consider myself good-looking and I always get good comments on my appearance so I don't need to change it for a job. I am happy with how I look and with the job I have right now.

well that depends. If you like the job, then it would be worth while. Sounds like you don't like the job though, so then absolutely not !!! Why be miserable & hate yourself. I think anyone with self esteem would have a very hard time doing this. Sounds like you have definantly got some because your questioning this. Stick with your gut !! You go girl !!

If my appearance were such that people would be frightened or repulsed by me in the work environment, I would either change my appreance or find a job where my appearance would be of no concern.

No, not anymore.
I used to be a social camillion, but that did make me miserable and depressed.
After years in the corporate world. I quit, started my own business and now make no excuses for who I am and what makes me comfortable.

no, that's a stupid reason to change ur appearance. Just be urself and if they don't think it's good enough, it'll be their loss and u could find a better job that will accept u as u are.
