Other than the executer,do potential heirs of a deceased relative have the legal right to see the will and any other written lists of bequests made by the deceased.

I would contact a lawyer to be sure. You don't know if you're an heir of the deceased? You will be contacted if you are, otherwise I don't think that you are entitled to see the bequests. The executor has the responsibility of making sure that all debts are paid, including taxes and bills. If property is to be divided or sold, the executor also has that responsibilty. The will also has to go through probate, so it will be awhile before any settlement is made to the beneficiaries.

if there is a will, the people who take under the will are not called "heirs," but rather "beneficiaries."

and if the will has been filed in the probate court, you can just go to the court clerk to ask to see it - it's a public record.

they do but need to go through many legal stages.. I encourage seeing an attorney for further information.. so many laws out there today, you just have to know it.. a will is not enough in today's world.. you almost need to know your rights..
