nonconformity these days seems to have become the way of living for conformists - everyone is out to be an individual - but not in a healthy way --- it is more like who can be crazier and more profane and out there - a big attention grabber. the real way to be yourself is not to follow everyone else - it's funny cause these people call themselves nonconformists but it isn't true b/c if you look around, everyone looks the same - it is a game of who can be the bigger freak - not because it is an expression of self but because they think it is cool and you can always tell the ones too because they look sooo uncomfortable in their own skin. I think most people will think of what others think perhaps but don't change because of it and don't let it bother them inside. The problem is when you live by the opinions of others and just never get to know the answer to the eternal question - who i am.. how do i express that. if you feel the need to state what a noncomformist you are and how different you are, then that person is really just the same as everyone else, trying to hard, look at me, look at me. it's sad a generation of the same faces and clothing and hair - I have always lived according to my own mind, heart and soul. The thoughts of others may sometimes cross my mind but I think as you get a bit older it does so less and less as your identity becomes known to you. I think some people feel so lost inside, they need to follow the crowd - they need to feel part of something because they don't even feel a part of themselves.

I'm myself where ever i go and i don't follow a crowd. People who follow crowds lose theit own identity and take on the identity of the crowd

I used to follow the crowd and it only ever got me in trouble. Now I have learned just to be myself because if no one can accept you for who you truly are then they are not worthy to be your friend.

I prefer to be myself, when possible. Much as I like to socialize, a bit, I've never liked crowds.

I think some people try to "Be themselves" to the point of just trying to be different even if that is not really them.
They are actually conforming to be different.
Just a thought...And im usually just myself.

Be myself. I don't care what other people think about me. I have my friends, and they accept me as I am. If people like me they, do, if they don't, then they don'.t
