My husband and I started the process and completed the classes/paperwork. We ended up putting everything on hold when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Hopefully we will start the process again very soon.

I have 2 of my own, but I really, really, really want to adopt a child. The thought of some sad, lonely, little kid sitting in an orphanage in Russia or somewhere crushes me. I have so much love to give and no child should ever, ever, ever, feel unloved. Ever.

However, the cost to adopt is horrendous! So, once I finish college and start making the loot, I'll be on the first plane to Russia.

(I'm not saying that all kids that need to be adopted are in Russia, but I had a friend who was adopted from there and she has told me some stories...So, I am just partial).

My husband and I would have loved to adopt a child since there are many without homes, however the cost is really high. This is really true if you want a younger healthy child. We were looking at a special needs child that was younger, but still the cost is really high.

I considered adopting when I was younger. I ended up getting married and having 3 of my own instead.
