The Shining - The original version with Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall.

I remember watching this movie while I was staying at this remote motel up in Canada. There was a major storm that night. A lot of rain, thunder and lightening to add to the freaking ambiance. And if that wasn't scary enough, the telephone lines were out. We didn't have cell phones back then. There was no entertainment except to stay in and watch movies. And of all the damn movies, they were playing The Shining.

It is the only story that I know, which scared the day lights out of me, not only when I saw the movie, but also when I read the book. Stephen King is a strange person with the most bizarre imagination. Really amazing!

By a long shot The Changeling. Close second/third are The Shinning and The Exorcist.

The Entity was pretty freaky too, a ghost that rapes. ugh.

A movie called "Fallen" with Denzel Washington. Very scary!!
Another called "A Simple Plan". Not scary, but so messed up that I felt sick when it was over. Starred Gary Sinese and the old white guy that Angelina Jolie was going with a long time ago. Can't remember his name
