what should i wear in my company annual dinner which the dress code is formal wear?

Misinformation abounds on this subject. If you are a lady, wear an evening gown. There is much leeway in colors and styles. If you are a man, "white tie and tails" is the full formal evening wear. You said dinner,and that means evening. For a breakfast or lunch, a morning coat with ascot and other proper accessories is formal. Note that the dinner jacket or tuxedo is not as formal as the tailcoat, but all too many people think so. Check on this, before the dinner. You should blend in.

If you have a Macy's closeby, I'd probably go there to see what they have. But more than likely, I'd stick with a little black dress. You'll never go wrong there. A cocktail dress would also be nice. Of course, if you can't get to the mall, you can also preview the selection they have at Macys.com. I'd also go to nordstrom.com under the link

If you are female, a tasteful cocktail dress.Something not very flashy. If you are male, a black suit, black tie and a dress shirt (any color), but no stripes.
