Do not quit but take care of your ankle first if you don't do it chances are you could weak the Achilles tendon and have a more serious injury, if that happens your soccer days are numbered...try soaking your ankle in Epsom salts and then try an ice compress...god luck...Try not to pay attention to that person you do not like, it is not worth it

I'll give you 2 options.
-Wait until your ankle heals. You can still watch the games, but you don't have to play. Once it heals, you can play on the team for another month or two and if you still want to quit, you can just tell your parents. They should understand. Your sprained ankle shouldn't take an extremely long time to heal because you're young.
-Think of a number of reasons why it would be a good idea to stop playing soccer as competitively and present them to your parents. One would obviously be your sprained ankle. Then, if you can get out of the team, try to find another one.

i have the same problem, I am the Alabama state goalkkeeper U-17 and start for the state and my club team. I don't start for me high school team however because the other goalkeeper is the coaches suck-up and the coaches son's best friend. Even Though I've played since I was four, been state champion for 3 years, broke the AL record for consecutive shut outs, and gone to England to play he still benches me. I cannot stand the other keeper and i have been so close to beating the crap out of him. I might be a 16 year old and him a senior but Im 6'2 and 174lbs of solid muscle and i'd probably kill him. Just stick with it . Thats what I do have fun! mess around. pick on that person. Don't let your talent go to waste. Do the best you can do in everything you do and everything will be alright

You have a real legitimate reason to drop out of the competitive league. Simply join a recreational league. I have played in both types of leagues and got sick of the wanna Be's and the people who have their whole self esteem wrapped up in the sports (they get mad, their is violence, I deck them, I get red carded, I got sick of that stuff). If you are old enough to make the decision, then make it. If not, have your parents take you to a doctor for your ankle (complain about it, whine if you must), and the doctor will tell you to take some weeks off, that should settle it as far as the competitive team. While you are healing, you can tell your parents how much happier you are not having to compete, and then bring up the recreational league. as long as they aren't living through your accomplishments like some parents, they Will respect your decision.
PS: before I got enlightened, I played with a sprained ankle, was even on crutches during the week sometimes, and it took seven months to fully heal. You don't want to deal with that.

Let your ankle heal, first of all. And I don't know what others think, but the people on the team are pretty important. I would just let the other person, the one that you don't like, do their thing, and you do yours, and ignore them. Unless you absolutley have to talk to them. I don't know about where you live, but where I live they have a rec league as well as competitive. I'm with you too, I kind of want to quit my competitive team, it's just not fun anymore.

Don't let that person spoil something you love. If that person starts trouble speak to the coach. Let your ankle heal or you'll mess it up good. If you still want to quit the team, see if there are younger kids that need a coach and then you could still be involved and enjoy what you love. Good Luck!

Let your ankle heal and then play. If you really enjoy it, you will miss it if you don't. If you want to play, play - who cares who's on the team.
