I got these spots on some of my cds some how. I'm not sure exactly what they are, they could be perfume. Again not sure. I tried using regular cd/dvd cleaner on them and it didn't work. I could really use some help on this one. Thank you to anyone who has some ideas.

Try some car wax. My friend runs a used cd place and he uses car wax on cds. Just make darn sure you get it wiped clean when you are done.

I've read that Brasso works well, too. But the most important thing is to ALWAYS wipe *radially.* That means wipe a straight line from the center hole to the outside edge. If you think about it, it makes sense. The CD is read in a circle, like an old record. If there's light scratch across a track, it'll only mess up a tiny bit of data, but if it goes along the track, it'll mess up a lot. So don't ever clean it the way you would a plate! Go straight from the center to the edge.

Furniture polish/wax works wonders for this too, especially on scratches. Spray it on, let stand, then polish with a cotton cloth.
