My friend hates Jewish people ever since Passion of the Christ. How do I convince him he's wrong?

It was the Pagans that ordered his cruxifiction because the growing group of Christians following Jesus were blamed for the rioting and destruction... Jesus was made an example of... did your friends even pay attention to the movie coz its actually really well done!

First off, tell him what a butt he's being. And have you told him about Mel Gibson's latest tirade? :}. Tell him Mel Gibson is anut and he has a slanted one-side view of Jewish people. And tell him that in the end, the Jewish people did not betray Jesus. In the end, it was the Romans who were responsible for the whole thing, they were the master manipulators of aiming to bring Jesus down. It's in the Bible. Have him read it. And tell him Jews are being treated unfairly and they don't deserve it. You should not take one person's view to heart. Passion of the Christ was a very opinionated movie and it told one version of a story. Read the other truths the story has to tell.

why would watching passion of the christ make your friend hate the Jews?

the Jews didn't kill Christ, and neither did the Romans. we (humans) killed Christ. humanity was morally culpable for that act of deicide, yet Christ rose again to save and forgive us.

Further, Jesus was a Jew, Mary & Joseph were Jewish. All the apostles were Jewish. It seems pretty silly to hate the Jewish people.

And, after all, the Jews are still God's chosen.

Ask him to consider that in 2000 years, a lot can change. 2000 years ago, Romans were rat-bastards. Then the Persians. Then the Greeks. And so on. I realize that they didn't all torture and kill messiahs, but the point is the same. No one's innocent, and there's no special reason to pick on Jews. There never has been. Even now, with what Israel is doing in the middle east, there's always two ways to see things, always two guilty parties.

I think the only way you are going to get your friend to listen is to listen to him, draw out his anger and get him to explain where it comes from. That will force him to defend it logically or to admit that it's unreasonable.

Remind your friend that Jesus was a Jew. It's unChristian to hate anyway. What is with people? We shouldn't hate Jews anymore than others should hate us for the actions of our ancestors from thousands of years ago. It doesn't make sense. The Jewish people of today had nothing to do with it. Some of Jesus' own disciples plotted against him - those are the ones who crucified him. And, shouldn't he/she be greatful that through his death we are redeemed?

Jesus came to earth to die- hello!!! We celebrate Christmas as the day the Savior was born, if He had not died for our sins, He would not be the Savior. He came here with the express purpose of dying for us- therefore, who could have stopped it?
