Who says liberals have low standards....Conservatives have no standards look at what conservatives have stood for through the course of history segragation, discrimination, witholding a woman's right to choose, Conservatives have the only president to resign the Presidency Liberals have the only modern president to balance the budget. Conservative are the ones with low standards you tell me of any one great Social injustice where it was the conservative taking the lead for social change you can't cause they never have!!! We "blacks" stand with those who have the courage to stand up and fight for the things that have made our country a better place to live. Liberals by in large have been the ones to represent the intrests of the members of society the conservatives have overlooked cause we were not in the same income bracket or perhaps the wrong color. So please don't say liberals have no standards liberals stand on our deeds not on our words. Conservatives are the ones who have no standards. and the standards you do represent are that of greed, corruption and the promotion of division and inequality.

I have a hard time believing anyone making less than $50.000 could be a republican, let alone a black man making less than that. If a black man made over a million dollars a year, it would be in his selfish best interest to be Republican. this is another example of mindless bashing by some ignorant neo-con wanna be. If you make even $100,000 a year, i suppose you could make points with your boss and join the Republican party, but it really wouldn't help much unless you brown nosed even more.. there is such a thing as money trickling up through the economy. america became a great ecomonic climate through the efforts of all social classes. Just because someone is a billionaire, it does not mean that he gets to make the rules. In a different kind of country, it is not so easy to set up a business. The rich did not get rich in a vacume..and they owe something back for becoming successful.

There aren't as many black millionaires as there are white, it does a black man or woman no good to help create American royalty...why would any intelligent person support activities that are designed to create a system to widen the gap between rich and poor.

That is a sweeping generalization if I ever seen one. Since im black, I might have better insight for you. For starters, a lot of black people are actually very conservative. I am, and most black people that I know are. Just because most blacks are demographically democrat, does not mean that most blacks are liberal. Many black people, like many conservatives, go to church, and hold strong moral values. Just because some black people (as in every culture) do things that seem "low standard" does not mean the entire race is. Personally, I think your question is low standard, because you are too ignorant to even pose a respectful question..which obviously was asked in hopes that you would gain heat from people (good job).

If you want a true answer to your question, you would not have phrased it the way in which you did. Are you liberal? As this question seems to be a set up to tick people off.
Just for those of you who don't know, the face of politics has changed through the course of our history. What is now called a conservative is where the democratic party once stood. What is now liberal is where the republican party once stood. So when looking at history, please keep this in mind.

Each of the following events have been opposed at the time by those calling themselves 'Conservative':
- Abolishing slavery
- Desegregation

And those who call themselves 'Conservative" campaign against social services such as health care and welfare. They campaign against taxation of the wealthy.

Historically, black people have had a damn good perspective on how those in power seek to conserve power, by keeping opportunites from the poor.

I think blacks are liberal for the same reasons that I am. We believe that every child should be fed, clothed, and educated. We believe that everyone should be able to see a doctor and afford their medicine. Etc...

I think because the Dems have promised to take care of them , and have developed a welfare mentality within the black community. Its gotten to the point that blacks expect and demand the Dems to provide them with everything from food and housing, to free medical care. Its sad, because the Dems barely give enough and keep the blacks in poverty, and the blacks accept this instead of demanding more from the Dems to get them out of poverty.
