Maybe, as my oak wood table does this, after it cools for a hour or so, the white goes away...heck if I know how that works.
I did burn it, it was black, not white marks, I used Englished Gold polish, to bring it back, it is still somewhat visible, but you have to look to see it

I like to use a belt sander or chainsaw. Put on safety goggles and aim the selected power tool at the white spots. Lets face it man, if your wife comes home and sees that stuff, it doesn't matter if you have burns on your table or if the thing's sawed in half. You're still sleepin' on the couch bud.

White marks are not burns in the wood, they are burns in the wax or sealant that was used to protect the wood. I was told that I would have to strip the rest of the wax off and refinish it.

My Great Aunt use tooth paste. It was the polish that caused the white mark. Good luck.

Chainsaw?
Use very fine steel wool, rub with the grain back and forth.
Do this dry, and keep an old towel handy to wipe away the powder as you go.
WORKS GREAT, builds muscles too.

white marks are just burned furniture polish. Not the wood itself.

You burnt through the finish, so, no. You have to patch the finish or refinish it.
