* Tarryton: "I'd rather fight than switch"
* Kool: "Come up, come all the way up, to Kool"
"Take a puff---it's Springtime"
* Marlboro: "Come to where...the flavor is...come to Marlboro Country"

Then there was Prince Albert pipe tobacco--I remember a radio ad that went something like this: There's good time in the puffin', and PA has the flavor.."

I was young when they were still on TV, but I can still remember that I would walk a mile for a camel. Winston tastes good like a cigarette should. A silly millimeter longer - 101. Obviously everyone remembers the Marlboro Man (HOT).

You can take Salem out of the country BUT
You can't take the country out of Salem

Winston tastes good like a cigarrette should
More filter, more flavor
More [something or other]

You've come a long way baby
To get where you've got to today
You've got your own cigarette now baby
You've come a long long way

Lucky strike smokers all had black eyes

The Marlboro Man rode a horse .. that one translated pretty well to print media.

Give the points to someone with a better answer ... I never smoked

I am only in my forties, but I haven't seen a cigarette commercial since watching reruns as a kid. The last I remember was Pall Mall cigarette commercial. Of course I have never been a tv watcher either.

Don't know which brand it was for, but one went "Tastes Good Like a Cigarette Should".

In high school history class, we checked some of the old TV cigarette ads, and they were hilarious. One brand claimed to improve your breathing. Pretty sad now that we know different....

L.S./M.F.T.

I'd walk a mile for a Camel.

A silly millimeter longer

True, with the micronite filter

You're in Marlboro Country

I even remember when Fred and Wilma Flinstone stumped for Winston cigarettes ON THEIR SHOW!

"I'd walk a mile for a mild, mild Camel"

That was an oxymoron because Camels were one of the strongest cigarettes there were.

L S M F T -- Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco.

When we were kids, we'd make up our own anagrams from the letters LSMFT -- Loose Stockings Make Feet Tickle -- was one of them.

I don't know if I ever saw any or not; but I do miss the original Joe Camel stuff! They had some great memorabilia before they got sued. I still have some of the match packs and silver tins. Stupid censorists.

Vaguely. I seem to remember one for Virgina Slims with a song that went "You've come a long way, baby. You've got your own cigarette now, baby."

Pretty offensive really.

yep...And I can remember walking the halls of school and passing the TEACHERS LOUNGE, and the smell of cigarettes coming into the hall. It was always a dare to go in there!
