I have never been late on my period. I've actually started tracking my period back in April. I've got a 30 day cycle and I was predicted to start on the 30th.of July. My last period was on the 30th of June. I'm now two days late. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it said negative.

Either this cycle is the first time you're late (there's always a first), or the test was wrong. Or both. If you ovulated late, then your period may not actually be late yet, so it could be too early to test. Think back at least 2 1/2 weeks; was there some stress in your life? It may have delayed ovulation. And a urine test may only be accurate a full week after your period would have started (even if it would have been late) for some women. In fact, some never have HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests) until much later--as much as 2-3 months into a pregnancy.

For more accurate results earlier, see your midwife or doctor for a blood test. Or wait until your another week, then test again.

Your best bet is to wait another week and then take a home pregnancy test. If you are still unsure of the results, go to your health care professional and they can actually do a blood test to determine if you are pregnant or not.

In the meantime......... here are a few pregnancy jokes (below) for your enjoyment.......

Pregnancy Q & A !

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.

Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A: Childbirth.

Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
A: So what's your question?

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.

Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.

There are several factors which could alter your normal cycle to mention few of them:unbalanced diet, some medications, stress, etc. Anyone experiences this sometimes. However if you are worried about pregnancy the earliest you can get a positive result on the most sensitive pregnancy tests (blood test) is seven days after ovulation. You are ovulating approximately in your mid-cycle,(15th of the month in your case). Implantation needs to occur before hCG is produced, and that generally happens between 6-12 days (usually 10 days)post ovulation,. For this reason, it makes economical sense to wait until 10-12 days after ovulation, but even then a significant percentage of women who are indeed pregnant will still show a negative result. If your period is late, test again. Your hCG levels should double every 2-3 days and many people won't have a positive Hormonal Pregnancy Test until the first day of a missed period or even a few days later.

I'm late too. Tomarrow will be day two for me. I took tests and they came out neg. I even got blood work done today and it was neg. They said come back in a week if I don't get it, as it may be too soon to tell if I ovulated later than expected. I am normal too, every 29 days, and only 24 yrs. You could be pregnant. It might be too soon to tell. See if you can get a blood test done. If it is neg. and you still don't get your period, take another blood test in a week. Don't waste your money on HPT's. That's what I did. Only time will tell.

I was always on time every 21 days............when I was 21 I became prego with my daughter.....I still had my period for the 2 months but it was extremely light(a spot for one day), I had taken 3 prego tests and they all came back neg and including a blood test, then the 9th week I went to the doctor because I was sooooooo sick(lol) she did a prego test and it was positive.......if you are on the pill your body could be just reacting to the hormones...meaning just getting too used to it causing you to miss, or stress........the more you think about being prego you might add that much more stress......and be that much later....I think you should wait a week or two and just see what happens.........until then just relax have fun and wait........good luck and take care

I always kept track of my periods, last November we were TTC, and was to get my period on the first of Dec, I never got it did not get period for 4 months, its normal to not get your period, as the doctor said. You could be stressed, gained weight, ect. Alot of things are to take into consideration when you miss a period. Best of luck to you. If you still haven't got your period in 2 weeks go to the doctors.

I'd wait a few more days and see if you start. If not, take another test. If it's negative you're probably not. Those tests are pretty accurate. You could just have a horomonal thing going on.
