Brett Favre could literally sit down on the football field for four straight downs and they could not and would not bench him. The guy could turn around and run towards his own goal line and get tackled rught before crossing the goal line and they wouldn't dare bench him.

listen you need to shut the **** up. Nobody, and I mean nobody talks like that about brett favre. The man is a hero and a legend. 3 consecutive MVP's a superbowl win and 221 consecutive starts, around 60 more than the next man. He played an entire season with a broken thumb, and also broke his pain killer addiction. I have all the respect in the world for the man. Would u really want aaron rodgers starting. I'd rather throw my dog in at QB. Favre will never miss a start this season. The packers will make a comeback this season. Mike McCarthy said it best "We may be taking out a couple walls and putting on some new paint, but we are not in a rebuilding stage." This team has playoff contention written all over them.

There is no way Brett Favre will get benched because the fans would never tolerate it. The main reason for his horrible play is because the Packers offense is among the worst in the league. WR's like Donald Driver and Robert Ferguson are nothing special and they don't pose a major threat to anyone's defense. They also lost both of their starting guards to free agency last year and have had numerous injury problems in the backfield, substantially hurting their running game. Favre has struggled because he has noone around him to help him. Throwing an inexperienced QB like Aaron Rodgers out into that mess would not bring better results. It would end up being similar to Alex Smith's season with San Fransisco last year.

He won't get benched, he still one of the top QB's in the league, even though he makes mistakes by throwing interceptions like he did last year, you can't bench him.
He is to much of a team leader, and if you are a Packer fan like I am, just hearing him coming back one more year, you should love that!!!!!
He had one bad year, geez, let that go, he even took responsibility of putting the whole year on himself, not the team due to injuries, which not to many starting QB's in the league will ever say, how can you bench someone that everyone on the team is going to listen to?
He also based his decision on returning to what Green Bay had done in the off-season (which was 2 days before the draft, so he already knew who they were looking at to draft), so if he gets benched, it won't be due to poor play, it would have to be to an injury (hmmm how long ago has it been since he has missed a game?), started to 221 (241 if you include playoffs) and the NFL's only 3-time MVP, so would you bench him after one bad season...don't think so

He won't have the chance to get benched. In the first week vs. the Bears, Mike Brown will come in on a safety blitz and knock him unconscious. He will wake up 2 days later at Rush Memorial Hospital; the following Sunday, he will announce his retirement (which he should have done last year).

If Favre is benched this year, Green Bay is drafting in the top 3 teams. They don't have a lot, so he'll play 'till he's hurt.

Last seasons play was caused a lot by a bad offensive line and banged up receivers. Favre forced a lot of passes because he didn't have much time in the pocket. You can't blame him entirely for his play last season.

week one against the bears. he'll get sacked over 8 times and picked at least 4 times.
actually, he won't until they're out of playoff contention because the organization is too afraid to let a future hall of famer sit on the bench
