Sometimes dont' you wonder if there were no tv or new papers, would everyone really worry about how their date looks? Or does the way we all live today have something to do with it? B/c i know they are some ppl out there that would love to go out with a really fat guy/girl, but b/c of what someone might say, it turns them away from being themselves?

unfortunately, society has a lot to do with how we live our lives. although we should live to make ourselves happy, we don't. instead, we worry about what the public will think. from how we present ourselves to how we live our lives. it's a shame. the standards that we use to judge people has a lot to do with the media. a person could be considered ugly just because their being compared to an image that has been digitally touched up in the magazines. one can be thought to be undesirable due to stories in tabloid television shows and well known magazines. hopefully there are still some true soldiers out there who will stay true and be themselves.

I agree, there is too much emphasis put into the way people look. I have tried to never make fun of others, "There but for the Grace of God go I" but yes, there really are some homely people out there. See, I feel bad already for saying it!
