I read your profile, I get the idea you have a real dilemma. When I have a tough choice to make, it helps to know what I value. I then set up the choices one against the other and ask myself, how will each choice effect those things that really matter to me. It can be tricky to put a value on some things, like life, or the environment, but make an effort to, because if you label everything "priceless" it won't work.
I have a kind of dilemma too that may effect a lot of people. Would you take a look at about 8 -10 minutes of this interview with Professor Steven Jones ? It's a 45 minute video and well worth looking at, to its end. At the very least, pass it on to those you care about.

Difficult to offer help for you do not state subject of decision nor what the 2 alternatives are. I'd say decide to do what lets you sleep the easiest at night, the choice that has the least doubt, the choice that has the most excitement and that fires you up, for when I want to do something that feels right in my gut, brain and spirit difficult to contain enthusiasim to start doing it.Since you state that it will affect a lot of people and perhaps even me that makes me think its something for the common good of all and has me wishing it'll help greatly to slow/reverse global warming for that would be simply terriffic. For the first year I have hummingbirds in my backyard-feed the birds and small creatures
and havae attempted to make a small Eden where theres always food, water and relative safety-and watching these tiny brilliant creatures would sadden my spirit that in the future there won't be that brilliant streak of shimmery color in the sky. Or perhaps to form a Aid Organization to help all the displaced people in the world no matter what country, race or religion esp.now when so many in Lebanon,Israel and the African nation need help. Sometimes I wish politics would go away. Or children-do therapeutic foster care and much help is needed there. I'm confident that you'll make the right decision especially if your spirit is being guided by the Holy Spirit that is also God.Such an endeavor as you have decided on to do feel surely has all of the Lord's blessing and support. I know also that by having decided to act in the human interest you have also found the key to happiness and the real joy and that is giving happiness and joy to others. I wish you a long and happy life.

Use Ben Franklin's Method. You have resources and money to get a lot of info about the two alternatives. On a sheet of paper draw a line in the middle. List the reasons why you want to choose alternative A on one side and list why you dont want to choose alternatyive A on the other side. Then do the same for alternative B on a different sheet of paper. Then you will know which alternative scores best and that would be your choice.

If u think or feel that ur choice is right for a right reason then do it but dont quit.Always keep a larger picture in mind when making a decision.Never ever compromise with ur integrity.money can only buy what money can buy and in fact, the most precious things ar those that money cant buy.relax, stay calm try auto suggestions, try talking to old people or ur close friends and ask for their viewpoints and just because u have 6 months time dont delay for its now or never.
MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE
U CAN DO IT.

There are many ways to approach this. Take a day and live internally with each decision. Which one seemed to be more correct? Sometimes your gut instinct is a good indicator. if you goal is helping people, which one will cause the most permanent good? In similar fashion, which one could possibly cause the most harm? Is there one people could possibly object to? If you had to, is it possible to do both things on a smaller scale? I hope some of this helps. You might try praying for guidance, if you are so inclined. I have asked for roadsides, if you will, indicators as part of the over all process. You are quite thoughtful to look for other ways of approaching you situation. I wish you the best of luck. You have me curious of course and in six months I would love to know what you have decided, if that is at all practical.

List all the advantages and all the disadvantages of each choice. Seek some wise counsel from several people that you respect.
And try this: take a coin and decide that tails = choice A
heads = choice B
Have someone toss it up in the air and before it lands....
what does your heart want it to be?
A little unconventional, but sometimes it makes your true desires come to the surface. Best wishes!

This is like a riddle...
You want to make sure you make the right choice.
You have the money and resources to make the right decision.
And have about 6 months to do it...
The only question here is "how to choose?"
Do it before time is up and don't choose the wrong decision.

AND THE CORRECT ANSWER IS =) Whichever decision that will make you happier, and more content with your life. If it doesn't really fall under that category, pick the one that you will enable you to sleep through the night without waking up and worrying about the consequences of the choice. If that makes any sense. The best gift to yourself is peace of mind, and regardless what this decision is, you are the only one that can take care of you!!
PS I agree with the other person, if it involves any maniacal, violence, charles manson type of ****, then call 911 on yourself.

What do you mean? If I already knew I had "a lot of money and resources to make the RIGHT decision" then I would have already made that decision. The questions for you are, WHAT DO BELIEVE IS THE RIGHT DECISION- IS THE RIGHT DECISION SOMETHING THAT IS BASED OFF OF SOCIETYS VALUES OR YOUR OWN? WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG TO YOU?
