I think emotional pain is worst because it can transcend into physical pain. If you've ever experienced a heart break then you know the physical symptoms that accompany it. Whereas physical pain, depending on the type, can be treated with medication. The only cure for emotional pain is time and if it's very severe then anti depressant medication.

Emotional pain is generally worse because it can bring on physical pain as well. Physical pain would probably be more endurable because at least you know its most likely temporary. With emotional pain you don't know how long it could last and then it could still come back.

Emotional pain is worse. Physical pain can be ignored and dealt with a lot easier than emotional pain. I rather endure physical pain.

They are both pain and when you are experiencing them they both hurt deeply. I have physical pain right now that causes emotional suffering and emotional pain that manifests itself physically. It all hurts and while there is medicine for both I find the most healing I get is by realizing that by feeling the pain I appreciate those moments when I am not in pain that much more! So I think believe it or not the worst would be if we could feel no pain at all!

It all depends on the psychological make up of the individual. Some feel physical pain less than others and some linger over emotional pain longer than others. It also depends if the pain is chronic or acute. Put it like this...take a hammer and slam it down on your thumb REAL hard...after that what are you thinking about, your ex-lover or how bad your finger hurts....lol

I suffer from chronic sciatic nerve pain from a back injury...15 plus years.this in turn creates stress on my heart and mental status, therefore do not believe that physical pain has a less lengthy impact on your well being. In fact emotional pain is more short lived and less detremental than most chronic pain.

A physical pain is cause for some amount of emotional pain also and not vice versa. So, emotional pain is the worse thing. However - if we pain out ourselves physically in some activity - which interests us - like (for example) gardening - OH ! the emotional pain is cured !
So, emotional pain is worse and physical pain (activity) cures it.

Depends on what the physical pain is and how long it lasts. I doubt someone with cancer would think that emotional pain is worse. That said emotional pain can be worse than say a sprained ankle. It all depends on the severity and period of time.

Emotional pain is worse than any pain in the world.

Physical pain can be seen and borne.

But emotional pain stays with you and you cannot even share it fully as it is not visible.

Emotional pain hurts your soul.
Physical your body. It can be healed.

Emotional pain takes a very long time to heal, if it does.

emotional pain is worse. I would rather endure physical pain.
I have been living with emotional pain my whole life...it never goes away...it lurks in the shadows...sneaks up on me out of the blue...slams me down hard and wrecks my life for awhile. then dissipates...and it will come again...just don't know when/why

physical pain is a known pain...meaning its always there, and its not sneaky.

Both pain are the same ,I rather have no pain. But emotional pain is much worse than physical problem.I had a minor Stroke ten years ago, physically changed with pain which I did handle it well even later on doctor diagnose Parkinson on me,but I treat it as a challenge,I did not complaint a word to my family, after years struggling ,I won the "battle"back physically, but emotionally,I'm still fighting hard to cover and for recovery, think about from a sport-man like turned to a disable man, from young looking to a guy twenty years older than my real age, from none to almost three quarter grey hair on my head, from a non-stop working crazy guy to an slow motion ugly old man, from hundreds of sub-ordinate work for you to stay home alone, from making decision for the company to taking care by some else and making decision for me to stay here or there, from joking ,teasing every one any where to crying when no one here, from a man who love by every single member of the family to none of them really want to talk to me,too many" from and to".because emotional pain is so hard to cure and recover, sleep is a stranger for me.But on the other hand , strong pain-killer or sleeping pills always work out for my pain--PHYSICALLY.
