Are you asking who invented the light bulb? That would be Thomas A. Edison. Benjamin Franklin did experiments with electricity (you remember the kite and the key?), he invented the lightning rod.

Discovered is not the right word if you mean who put electricity into light bulb form, that's called invention. That would be Tom Edison. The first one to discover electric energy would be the first being that witnessed lightning, and if you say 'who' discovered it, then we all did, at one time or another.

Alot of people would say Edison, but actually Edison only discoverd Electricity and ways to control and store it. I believe the first electric light was created by a man named Davy, or something like that.
