In many states (due to child labor laws), you cannot be formally employed before the age of 15 or 16. Check your state guidelines. If you can't, you can always do:
a paper route
mow lawns for others
shovel snow in winter
offer a dog walking service
babysitting
housecleaning
If you are eligible for a formal job, you have no problems: grocery store, movie theatre, retail stores, car washes, etc.
