I have nothing as of yet. Here is what I want that I cant seem to find. I need a medium size case that has 4 usb in the front, capible of 3-6 hard drives, 2 - 4 dvd drive slots, (dont need a drive), big enough to handle at least a 600watt psu, and have at least 7 epansion slots. Then, I need a motherboard that will work in that case that is, socket 775 and able to handle p4 3.6 - Pentium d, 2 pci-e slots, 4 PCI slots, 184 - 240 pin ram x 4 - 6, hard drive hookup doesnt matter, ill adjust accordingly...and thats about it. And the case doesnt have to be fancy, preferably partially see through, but no biggie. Ive been looking for 4 hours and I cant find anything I want. I found a case, but all the motherboards that were compatible werent compatible with what I want.

The only computer supply stores I know around here have idiots working for them. They say to ask these people, who say ask these people, who say look online or over at a different store. Theres no real computer shops around here...at least none who know what I need to know.

Check out the hundreds of vendors at http://pricewatch.com
Yep, http://newegg.com is AOK!

You might wnat to find a 'barebones' as it has the motherboard already installed, and you shop for and buy them b specifying the CPU make and speed. You will need to buy some other parts like the drives, CD/DVD, and memory... but, the mainboard is usually already mounted, and matched, to the case and PSU...(Power Supply Unit).

Whenever I build or test a computer, I run the http://pclinuxos.com LiveCDrom that tests and runs all the hardware.

Most times, because it is 8 to 30 X faster than Microsoft, and has no virus and no hackers, and does have 5,000 games, programs, applications, PCLinuxOS is the very best Unix Clone to run, so, I install it!

Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com, and MSN.com ALL run on 30,000 GNU/Linux computers! Google runs on 100,000 GNU/Linux systems. The Fortune 1,000, the NYSE, 165 world governments, Burger King, Home Depot, Lowes, Boeing, NASA, the FBI, CIA, NSA, DOE, DOD all run with SELinux (written by the NSA, now in the Linux Kernel!)...

Do you really need to know more? Yeah, it is very secure...

look at the Antec P180 or P180b case, for the motherboard I use Intel if you need 2 PCIe 16 slots you need the D975, but it has PCIe x1 connectors instead of std PCI connectors, the other choice is the D955 which has ! PCIe 16 and a PCIe 16/4 and 4 PCI, BUT intel has posted their new motherboards with the D965 chipset which is Both P4 and Core 2 duo compatible but most are not available yet. I have the D945PVS motherboard which does everything EXCEPT have 2 PCIe 16 slots http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/index.htm?iid=HMPAGE+Header_2_Product_MB

Actually, you don't need a server case, you just need an Antec case. These will all work just fine, and have everything you're looking for (you'll have to replace the power supply, in the ones that come with one, though): http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Brand=1516&N=2010090007+50001516&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=1516&SubCategory=7

As far as motherboards, there aren't that many Intel boards that are SLI-capable, assuming that's what you meant by "2 PCI-E slots", and there are even fewer that are any good. Here are the best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCompare.asp?SubCategory=280&CompareItemList=N82E16813135225%2CN82E16813131578 Oh, and neither of those are Conroe (Core 2 Duo)-capable.

hmmm, no it does no longer ALL matter upon the images card as someone stated...it relies upon on your funds! the following is a construct which could be nice on your applications besides the very incontrovertible fact that it truly is in easy words the container and incorporates no exhibit screen/keyboard/mouse or different peripherals. you'll many times be able to get a workstation save to construct it for you, for a small value (and it truly is a miles better positive option then finding out to purchase retail.) (expenditures from MSY) $900 AMD "Gaming container": CPU: AMD AM3 Phenom II x3 720BE $one hundred sixty 5 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P $119 RAM: G.ability-NQ 4GB DDR3-1333 $109 HDD: Seagate 500GB (ST3500418AS / 7200.12) $sixty six GPU: Powercolor 512MB ATI Radeon HD4870 $169 Case: Antec three hundred $ninety seven PSU: Vantec ION2+ 600W $ninety 5 Opticalchronic: SATA DVD-RW $sixty 5 complete: $885 EDIT: You stated a television tuner....those commonly value round a $one hundred-$one hundred and fifty for a respectable card and may better healthful into maximum motherboards.

Go in either for an Antec or Cooler Master case coupled with a power sytem from the same companies. They are of very high quality and you can be assured that your hundreds of dollars are being well spent!!! ;)

You've done all the homework, so how would the rest of us know? YOu obviously want a souped-up system... so why not break down and call a computer supply store and ask where you can find something like that?
