The perception in all based on the types of clothes you wear and weather they suit your body.

It sounds like you are pear-shaped. This means that you carry most of your weight on your thighs and rear. 'Pears' end up looking a little bigger if they don't balance their proportions with clothing. Try to wear boot cut or even flared pants. They add a little more visual weight on the bottom, and that makes your thighs seem proportionate (by disguising the fact that they go out more).

There are also some tips you can do with the types of tops that you wear to help minimize your thighs. Check out the 'what not to wear' book for more tips. The book gives ideas suited for each body shape.

Also, if you can find thigh minimizer products (like spanks, or support stockings) these should help too.

Hope this helps.

You may have a larger frame and you are also quite short. You do not need to work on your weight, it's fine for your height. Just focus on your good points instead of worrying about being thinner than other people.

I honestly dont know why you would look bigger than everyone else...but I'm willing to guess it's how your body is proportioned. Everyones bodies are quite different and seriously if you weigh only 120 pounds then there is no need to worry about looking bigger than everyone else.

You have a distorted view of yourself. You need to see the beauty of your body. You may or may not have full blown anorexia but either way it would be good to examine your perceptions and attitudes toward your body. Depending how much time and energy you spend thinking about this issue, you may need/want professional counselling.

You're skinny either way. Some stores purposely make the sizes like that to make you feel good.
