microsoft only has MySQL Server. I just want MySQL. thanks.

You want the "Community Edition" because it's the free one. BTW, Microsoft sells SQL Server. SQL originally stood for "Structured Query Language" which is a fairly standardized relational database language that is used by major relational database packages. In other words, MS SQL Server and MySQL share a majority of the same commands, however they can be different on the finer points.
MySQL.com has an excellent documentation section, and you can also find loads of MySQL tutorials in a web search.
