This rapper has profane words on a few of his songs but the messages are all positive http://www.listentocharlie.com

What about other types of music with no profane words but with bad messages?

Why would a song have to resort to profanity to project a positive message.
Songs that use profane language automatically get lumped into a different category and the message for all intents is lost.

I would definitely listen to rap music if it had a positive message and profane words. It's always nice to hear something positive in this world of negativism

Nope; just don't care much for that style. And I am pretty eclectic in my tastes otherwise: hard rock, blues, classical, celtic, american standards, etc...

And I guess I've never really noticed other genres with "bad messages"; but then half the time I don't pay much attention to the lyrics... :)

More power to you, though, if you like rap; especially if it isn't "gangsta" crap...

No $ale , i still wouldn't listen. Forget the words - which most of ya can't understand anyway , let alone all the butchered english - it's the music i can't stand , and i use that term "music" very loosely in this case..

I typically don't like rap because of the style itself, not the message. There's some that I like, but a lot of it just doesn't sound good to me. Good lyrics/messages, to me, are just icing on the cake.

I dont like rap for the following reasons:

1.The videos are the same.
2.The beats are lame.
3.No message.Just talk
4.Videos are lame.
5.The image is a shame.
6.I hate that gangsta talk.

I listen to rap music with profanity that doesn't conform to the stereotypes of "gangsta" rap - no woman-hating, "hoes", drugs/guns, etc. I just find that offensive...

No, the foul language nullifies the ositive message. I will listen to Gospel rap if it is good though. Of course there is no cussing in that.
