Who cares if you can't spell or if she ends her sentences with prepositions?? Sounds like both of you were goofing off in English class. Maybe you both can enroll in night school, and end your ignorance towards one another.

I'm not sure if this is your mom you are speaking of, but, in general, parents want youth to do better than them. Get a better education, get a better job, etc. I don't know the context of how you received that statement, but I doubt it was made because she thinks she's perfect and that you need to be also. Cut her some slack on her errors. Nobody is perfect.
