In the States too many will not pronounce it with the French accent so it isn't that sexy....high class red neck.

Drop the (a) and put an accent over the first (e). That would make it sound french. The (e) would sound like an (a). Think of Deja Vue.

i like, but somehow spell it with a g, like gianette, this way your daughter (or you) will immediately be able to tell the morons (hi gah-nette!) from the people worth talking to (hi gee-ah-nette!) just by how they pronounce her name
but then again i think thats the italian in me rubbing off, or something, i dont think french has a soft g, so scratch that idea
